Today, the XXXIV session of Maslikhata of the city of Almaty took place, at which the deputies discussed and supported a number of socially significant issues.
One of the key decisions was assigning names to 156 anonymous streets of the city. Of them, 22 will bear the names of veterans of the Great Patriotic War, 15 will bear the names of prominent personalities included in the list of "Historical Persons". Among them are academician Abduali Kaidar, archaeologist Karl Baipakov, historian Sayim Balmukanov, world champion in weightlifting Anatoly Khrapatiy, Olympic champion, figure skater Denis Ten, people's writer of Kazakhstan Abdijamil Nurpeyisov, poet and writer Muzafar Alimbaev, abaevist Kaim Mukhamedkhanov, founder of the national cartoon Amen Kaidarov, and also the People's Artist of the USSR Natalya Sats.
Another 118 streets will receive toponymic, historical and traditional names. Proposals were pre-discussed at maslikhat commissions, agreed with the city's Public Council, and received a positive conclusion from the Republican onomastic commission.
In addition, the deputy approved the expansion of the list of diseases and medicines financed from the local budget. Additionally, 23 patients with ten socially significant and rare pathologies, the treatment of which requires expensive drugs, were provided.
Additions were made to the Rules of City Development. Now the fixed mechanism switches to the enhanced mode of winter maintenance of the street-road network in case of abnormal precipitation. Thus, in the winter of 2024-2025, Almaty recorded five days of heavy snowfall (14-22 cm with a norm of 1.87 cm), which required an urgent increase in the number of workers and equipment. According to calculations, up to 4 thousand will be required when similar conditions are repeated. road workers, up to 200 units of special equipment and up to 30 loaders. Payment will be made only for actually performed works.
Also, the deputy made changes to the staff of the Akimat of the city of Almaty in connection with personnel appointments.
