The street named after Denis Ten is located in the Bostandyk district of Almaty. This was announced at a session of the city maslikhat by Bakhyt Kalymbet, head of the department for language development and onomastics under the city administration.
Denis Ten Street will be named after 7th Street. It is an 800-meter-long street located at the top of the Presidential Park, near the Bolshoy Almaty River. The renaming is being carried out within the framework of the Road Map for 2025. This document provides for the naming of 156 unnamed streets in Almaty.
Of these, 22 streets will be named after veterans of the Great Patriotic War, and another 15 streets will be named after famous historical figures. In addition to Denis Ten, this list includes academicians Abduali Kaidar, Karl Baipakov, Saim Balmukhanov, world champion Anatoly Khrapaty, People's Artist of the USSR Natalia Sats and others.
According to Bakhyt Kalymbet, the Almaty City Onomastic Commission and the Republican Onomastic Commission gave a positive opinion on the proposal to give new names to the streets.
