Abdolla Karsakbaev. Honored Artist of the Kazakh SSR Abdolla Karsaakbayev was born on October 2, 1926 in the village of Karakastek, Zhambyl district, Almaty region. The warm-faced, friendly, generous director was especially loved by the youth.

Abdolla is the only one of Karsakbai's 16 children who survived the famine years. He is one of the few Kazakhs who graduated from the All-Union Institute of Cinematographers in Moscow. As the first professional, he recognized himself throughout the Union, far and wide. Abdolla Karsakbayev started his career as an actor. Having appeared in small episodic roles, he later focused on his profession and became a hero of film adaptations. The director brought new names to the history of Kazakh cinema. Nurjuman Ikhtimbaev, Doskhan Zholzhaksynov, Bolat Kalymbetov, Gulnar Dosmatova, etc. They are considered "children" of Karsakbayev.

Abdolla Karsakbayev's well-known films, which filled the ranks of the national cinema: "Stay in line", "Oh, cowboys", "Before the dawn", "Six-year-old Alpamys", "The taste of childhood". Abdolla Karsakbayev's historical picture "Kili period" is a film banned during the Soviet period. According to the director Daniyar Salamat, the unshakable images, the fight between the Reds and the gangs, the fragmentary words spoken by the leaders, and even the scene showing the entire population being tied to machine gun bullets were really contrary to the slogans of the Soviet ideology. He was an inseparable friend of Nurgisa Tilendiev, a famous child of Uly Dala, a composer, a controversial musician. The great musician wrote music for almost all the films of his friend.

Abdolla Karsakbayev is a three-time married man. His first wife was Jewish, and he had a son named Kaisar. His second wife, Umit, is the daughter of Ilyas Zhansugirov. The director, who was the son-in-law of the famous poet, wanted to make the film "Kulager". The name of the third wife is Klara Karsakbayeva. His son, Toktar, made a documentary about his father.

Abdolla Karsakbaev Street was renamed on December 24, 2003, by Decree No. 27 of the Almaty city Akimat and Decision No. 5/765 of the Almaty City Maslikhat. Previously, it was known as 22nd Street. Currently, the street is located in the Alatau District of Almaty city.
